JANESVILLE — Locally and around the country, Janesville resident Brian Post says fishing competitively has taken him to places he’s never been, where he’s met some of his closest friends.

On Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., Post was to be on the Mississippi River in La Crosse competing in the B.A.S.S Nation Series as a national qualifier. If he does well Wednesday and Thursday, he and 19 other anglers will fish again on Friday. If he does well on Friday, he could go to the B.A.S.S Nation Series championship in Oklahoma.
